What makes a user account an Admin account?

Hi @Kal_Lam,

1. Does creating an account on Kobo toolbox make it automatically an Admin account? I am asking this question because I want to create accounts for enumerators to collect data using android phones, but they shouldn’t have admin credentials.
   

   

2. In configuring the server URL on each enumerator’s android phone, do I have to use the following URL https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/ and each enumerator’s username and password? Some have reported seeing errors when using the URL above; others have said that kf should be replaced with kc

Welcome back to the community, @hernandezmachava! You can consider the account that has a project being deployed as an admin account. Never share the login credentials of this account with your enumerators. You can then create an enumerator account and share the project with those accounts.

This is possible. You should be able to learn more about the same through this announcement here. But please be informed that we have still not documented the change officially. We will document the change officially soon when everything goes fine.

You can then create an enumerator account and share the project with those accounts.

@hernandezmachava, you will need to use the enumerator’s login credentials instead of using your admin account’s credentials. So with this, they will not be able to access your admin account and make changes to the project.
