Is there any way to log the GPS location in the background, without adding an audit question?auto-location feature described here:

@ks_1 , this is already supported with KoboToolbox. You should be able to find it here:
Welcome to the community, @nejad ! Please be informed that this metadata question type is supported with KoboToolbox. FYI, you could test this sample XLSForm:

However, please be informed that you will need to activate your GPS while collecting data. Else the metadata question type may not work as expected.
