Calculate question introduced in deployed form

Hi all,

I am trying to introduce a new calculate question in an already deployed form with existing dataset. Question: Would this calculate question (linked to fields which are previously included in the form) be able to auto-calculate for historic data records or is it only calculated for future data records/data collected?

When you add a new field to the form, it will work with new surveys, because the calculations are done at the form level and not at the server level

no, the new calculate will only work on the previous cases with manual edit/save of the already submitted cases on server level.
