for my survey I want to use cascading questions and watched some explanatory videos around it. Following these precisely, I set up a choice list in Excel and imported it to Kobo. The idea is that there is the first question (Yes/No) and if the answer is ‘Yes’, they can choose different or multiple options for the next question. And they same with another following question apparently I cant upload the XLS.file because I’m new to the forum, sorry.
The first issue I had, is that the different answers for my items are not displayed. It just uses the standard options and I don’t know why.
But the bigger issue is that I changed a view things and now it doesn’t even load the survey anymore because of this error:
[row : 5] On the ‘survey’ sheet, the ‘choice_filter’ value is invalid. Reference expressions must only include question names, and end with ‘}’.
I downloaded the XLS.file and tried to ficure out the issue but there is none, at least as far as I can see. The entries in the choice_filter tab are the same as the names tab and it also ends with }
I also tried to shorten the question because its quite long but didn’t change anything.
I also looked through the forum threats and found some advice but that didn’t apply to my case.
Please, give me some advice what could be wrong. Maybe I’m just dumb and I overlooked an obvious mistake.
Second, can you share the relevant screenshots of your choices sheet, and your choice_filter column, so we can see it together and try to solve the issue you are facing.
Thanks you, thats really nice to say.
Sorry, I didnt know I can drop screenshots in here.
Here they are. The questions are quite long, so its hard to screenshot them.
Actually I did. I followed that approach but it didn’t work. Thats why I posted this question here because I’m stuck. Watched several youtube videos and went through the Kobo forum. Nothing works. Might be a minor mistake somewhere but I cant find it.
Sorry to say that but following the Kobo instructions didn’t really work because it leaves a lot of topics unexplained. Maybe its only me but if you just follow that it doesn’t work at all.
Thank you people, for the time and the considerations. Keep up the good work.
