Deeplink KoBo form URLS In Android App

Hello KoBo Community,

I am working with a developer on an Android app, that contains links to KoBo Toolbox forms, which you can open in the KoBo Collect app, if its on the same device. Previously this was working well. No we’re unable to deeplink kobo form URLs that follow the http://kf.toolbox.com/#/forms/uniqueID schema, bypassing the uniqueID as a deeplink to the koboc.collect.android package on phones that have the KoboCollect app installed. As we are dealing with multiple forms, we would prefer our users to fill forms on the KoboCollect app than on the browser, any pointers regarding implementing this would be helpful.

This was working before the KoBo update in June. Is there a way to regain this functionality?

Thansk!

Philip

Hi @arupwash,

Have you gone through this post on configuring your KoBoCollect android app. It should help you solve your issue:

Hi @Kal_Lam, in this case what we have is a 3rd party Android , in which we have linked KoBo forms we have developed. Previously, when we clicked on those links in our app, we had configured it to open the KoBo app, and take you through the login-in process and then the process for downloading the form.

However, now that configuration was broken when KoBo was updated recently, and our developers say that ‘deeplink option’ is no longer accessible. So now the links from our third-party app take you to the web page, not KoBo Collect, even though you have KoBo Collect on your phone. We would like to reinstate that workflow.

Hi @arupwash,

Could you kindly share with us some screenshot of the login failure you are seeing at your end and provide as much information as possible. This should help our developers respond to your with more precise response over your query.

Have a great day!

Hi,
Please also check to ensure that the default browser for the deeplink is not set to the android browser as this will bypass the KoBoCollect application.
