Deleting duplicate cases within the project

Dear Kobotoool,

I have an account on Kobotool for my project. I have multiple duplicates on my data. How do I delete these all at once rather than delete each entry one at a go.

Hi @svridatabase,

Welcome to the community! At the moment, KoBoToolbox does not have the feature of deleting multiple records from the server at one click. However, you could do this by exporting the dataset to the XLS format. But if you wish to see this feature in the KoBoToolbox in the upcoming days, I would suggest you to fill up the New Feature Request.

I am facing the same type of issue. There are a huge number of duplicate forms I have found in my project.

could you provide more detail and a (anonymized) screenshot with duplicates, please. Do the cases have

  • same _uuid ?
  • same data content ?
  • different _id ?
  • similar submission_time ?

Furthermore, please:

  • Are you using Enketo or Collect ?
  • Which server?
  • Which local device?
  • Did you manually import data cases ?
