Does Kobotoolbox support disabling checkboxes?

Dear Colleagues,

I am currently developing a questionnaire for corporate personnel and aiming to improve the user experience by minimizing the use of constraint messages or warnings. Specifically, if there are 5 options and I only want to allow the selection of 3, I would like the remaining 2 options to be automatically deactivated or disabled once the limit of 3 is reached. This would prevent respondents from selecting a 4th or 5th option and encountering a warning message.

Any guidance or suggestions on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

@alefa_banda, this post discussed previously should help you solve your issue:

@Kal_Lam, this post doesn’t fully address my issue. What I’m looking for is a way to automatically deactivate the remaining checkboxes once I select my desired number of options, say 3. This way, there’s no need for a constraint message to appear at all, if I select more than 3.

Hi @alefa_banda, I believe what you are looking for is currently not possible in Kobo yet. You need to use constraints unfortunately.
