I have the same issue when I try to download the data in XLS format. The survey has undergone some changes including adding and removing repeat questions groups. I am not able to troubleshoot what the problem is.
I also encountered the same issue (Export failed).
Could you share with the community a screenshot of your issue please?

Hi @dagiz, I am taking a look at this issue. Can you please send me the XLSForm Excel file you originally uploaded to KoBo in a private message. In the meantime, please use the XLS (legacy) export option while we look into a solution.

Hi @dagiz, when I tested your form on my side by downloading your form to XLS, I was able to successfully export data. Can you please try the following steps:
- Download your form as XLS from the KoBo UI
- Replace your current form with the one you just downloaded and redeploy
- Navigate to the downloads section with XLS export type and un-check the box that says " Include data from all 2 versions"
- Try download as usual normal

I am having trouble exporting data. It says export failed. I am facing this problem in my other projects as well.
We have resolved the issue, which was system-wide. Thanks for your patience.
