We are trying to download all photos from our the project. There are at least 1000 photos recording from the project. It have been sitting as “Pending…” for some time now. We’ve tried it several times since 1500 hours on Thursday. Is this a back-end issue? We were also backing up all photos to Google, but the screenshots were not renamed properly, so we would need the source file naming to correlate to location.
Have you got any solution? If yes, kindly share as I am facing similar problem…
Thanks,
Raj

We’ve found a solution for you to download the images on your account. This is a temporary approach while we are working on a better solution for very large image-based projects such as yours. I’ve just emailed you the detailed instructions specific to your accounts and projects.
Anyone else unable to download images with the normal ZIP download option please send us a message including the URL to your specific data collection project where the image download is not possible and we’ll help you out. We’ll soon have a long-term solution for downloading very large numbers of media files.

Hi Raj,
I just sent you the specific instructions for your project. It seems we mixed up two different queries on the same topic.
Anyone with very large photo or video projects currently unable to download their media through the regular ZIP file export, please send us a message at sup...@kobotoolbox.org and we’ll help you out right away.

I trust that you are fine. I am stuck with data, I am unable to download pictures from Kobo for one of our projects. Did you finally get a solution to this issue? I need help.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, DownThemAll extension is no longer available on Firefox. I tried to use download smart but got a message saying " failed to find any media’.
I could access the images individually from the excel hyperlink but haven’t been able to download all images at once.
I was in the the htm page that I saved on the desktop when I start the Download Smart. Has anyone one encountered the same issue?
Cheers

Hi all, At the moment, when generating a ZIP file to download media attachments, this ZIP file is stored in the cloud on AWS S3. When you start downloading the ZIP file S3 gives your browser (or download manager) a direct link. But this URL is available only for two hours.
We are working on extending this expiration so that the download is possible even if it takes (much) longer than that. You can track the issue here: https://github.com/kobotoolbox/kobocat/issues/499
For ZIP files with a slow connection, we still recommend a download manager. There are so many, depending on your preference and operating system. Download managers are able to resume in case the connection drops. If someone has a recommendation please add it here!
When I download the exported media file i get a corrupted zip file because the exported media file size 1.1 GB, the download works fine until it reaches 1 GB and the transfer stops is there a limit on the download for exported files?
If there is a limit how can I download the exported zip file?
Hi yabasha, I would guess it’s an issue with your connection. Could you try again, ideally with a download manager that can resume in case the connection drops?
No I don’t think it’s because of internet connection (as I have 100 MB/s Fiber Optics Connection) I tried different kinds of downloading (with IDM and other download managers, even I tried from the command line using curl with all configurations for it, even I used different devices but no luck.
Could someone please help me out with very similar problem?
Unfortunately none of the explanations from the support page “Downloading photos and other media works anymore” (http://support.kobotoolbox.org/managing-your-project-s-data/data-exports/downloading-photos-and-other-media) It is also about 6-10GB of pictures from each of the projects.
The “DownThemAll” extension is apparently not existing anymore. The Hyperlink to the kobotoolbox attachments does not connect either unfortunately. However, downloading the pictures and making a hyperlink to the specific folder for each dataset works. Unfortunately, as already hinting at in the article, not all the pictures are downloaded and this seems random. I only noticed by chance that here and there a picture, which is referred to in the downloaded excel file, is missing in the downloaded picture folders. How can I make sure now that all the pictures are downloaded and also correctly connected to the datasets?
Thank you for your help!
