Edited submissions still showing old data in Excel exports

​Description:

Hi Kobo Community,

​I am facing an issue regarding data cleaning on KoboToolbox.

​When I edit a submitted form directly from the server interface (Data > Table > Edit icon), and successfully click “Submit” to save the changes, the updates do not reflect in the downloaded Excel file.

​Even when I create a “New Export” and download it, the file still contains the old, unedited data that the enumerator originally entered. I have tried waiting for some time and clearing my browser cache, but the issue persists.

​Could anyone please advise on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Can you please try again with a simple form, and perhaps indicate what server you are using.

I’ve just tried this myself, on our Global server, and everything appears to be working as expected; if you submit an edit and re-export the project, the new value is appearing in the export data.

When you do the second (re) export, please make sure you are downloading and viewing the new export file (and not the original pre-export file). If the data appears correctly in the DATA table, then the same data should appear when you perform the next export. If not, can you perhaps share screen shots to show what you are seeing.
