I’m encountering a persistent issue when attempting to edit existing submissions: the server returns an error message: Error (400): The server did not accept the data. Please contact the form administrator.
Confirmed that the submission exists and is unique.
Tried clearing browser cache.
Tested in multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox).
Tried using a different Enketo account.
Tried editing various submissions across different forms.
Unfortunately, the issue persists across all forms and submissions on the Enketo-based server.
Background:
I suspect this may be related to the recent Kobo server-side update, which took place a few weeks ago. Everything was functioning properly before that update, and no major changes were made to the form structure.
Any help or clarification would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
I face the similar issue regarding editing the forms, Along side with the troubleshooting above, I checked the possibility of different version of the form, duplicating uuid, and two different user. All clear but we can’t edit and submit yet
Update: It looks like you can edit the forms submited after the 24th of the April without any problem but you can not submitted it earlier than this date.
@V_Kravchenko_1, @osmanburcu, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are currently investigating the issue and will get back to you soon with a fix.
@V_Kravchenko_1, @osmanburcu, @codonob, kindly please be informed that the issue has been identified, and a fix will be included in our upcoming patch (coming very soon). We’ll provide an update once the fix is live.
Looking forward to this solution as well! The last time I attempted to edit records was 25 May, and all worked well then. I’ve been saving up additional records to edit, and now face the same problem.
@V_Kravchenko_1, @osmanburcu, @codonob, @taniak, we’re pleased to inform you that the issue has been resolved. Please let us know if you continue to experience any problems. Thank you for your continued support and understanding!
@Kal_Lam , thanks for your efforts, but is seems, the issue remains unresolved — in some cases, when attempting to edit certain submissions, the same “error 400” returns, and in others, “error 409” now returns.
Thank you. I did make sure to log off and then log in again, just to make sure it loaded the new update. I managed to edit 2 records with no issues. However, it would not allow me to edit the third record.
So I appear to be getting the same issue as @V_Kravchenko_1. However, I received the same 400 error as before. I have not (yet) received a different error message.
Hi KOBO Support team,
30/June/2025,
Please support me as soon as possible.
Today I’m encountering a persistent issue when attempting to edit existing submissions : the server returns an error message: Error (400): The server did not accept the data. Please contact the form administrator.
@V_Kravchenko_1, @taniak, @krechkimhong, @claire_meyer, thank you for bringing this issue back to us again. Kindly please be informed that we will re-investigate it and get back to you once we resolve it.
I can still edit the form if the data is in the main grup of the form. But if we change the data of the other grup (that derived from the main grup), the error 400 will always appear. Please share the solution, thanks.
Welcome to the community, @seragro, @b_schneider, @vyapaardata, @danaazhari97! Thank you for bringing this issue back to us. Kindly please be informed that we will re-investigate it and get back to you once we resolve it.
I’m experiencing the same issue as the previous users.

I would appreciate your support in helping to resolve this. We are currently on fieldwork and we cannot edit previous past entries to our database. Please let us know once the issue will be resolved @Kal_Lam
