Excel export stuck in ‘Processing’

This error is happening again when i try to export a report in XLS format. Stuck in ‘Processing’ and nothing happens.

@diogosantos, could you also let us know which server you are using? Please also let us know the total number of questions your project has.

@diogosantos, I quickly checked your XLSForm and found that you had approximately 41k choices under the choices sheet:

When you have such a large number of choices your form will be very slow and will take up all the system’s memory. In such cases, we always advise you to use external CSV files.

So, I reduced the number of choices and the problem persists. I’m currently using Export XLS Legacy, but it’s not ideal as it comes without formatting. The problem was never the number of alternatives, this has been happening since the global update carried out in September 2023. In November 2023 I resolved the problem using a palliative which was to uncheck the option to load all versions of the forms, but since the day August 2, 2024 the problem returned.

@diogosantos, so what is the total number of choices (in your project) at the moment?

Oi @Kal_Lam!

So, I went back to the original form with the 40k choices because it didn’t work. I currently have 3 large forms, versions of the same survey:

V1 - Cadastro Social para REURB - A Casa é Sua, in the diogosantos account, with approximately 40000 choices and 22050 submissions which is working normally;

V2 - Cadastro Social para REURB - A Casa é Sua, in the diogosantos account, with approximately 40000 choices and 43336 submissions, but I have now noticed that the function of exporting the report to XLS is not working either;

0775 - SEPUL - V3 - Social Registration for REURB - A Casa é Sua, in the infodiagonal account, with approximately 40000 choices and 3351 submissions but the export function in XLS report is not working like i said before.

Let us know if you still have issues. But try to create large survey projects that take up all the system’s resources. Maybe you will need to split it into multiple projects.
