After exporting KoBoCollect form data to Excel, file upload links return {“detail”:“Not found.”} and files are only downloadable within Kobo. why aren’t the media links accessible? I am unable to view the uploaded files through the links generated. Please help

Hi Kal_Lam

This is the error message when I click on a file that was uploaded

Also the attachment links looks different from the typical way they normally should be.

Hello Kal_Lam, this is the error massage I am getting from the link to the uploaded files

@izzy_danny, have you kept the browser open from which you downloaded your data, with your account still logged in on the same browser?

@Kal_Lam I am using Excel Power Query to extract the data from kobo, the attached links are from the required uploads question in the forms for my participants. The problem is the links to the attachments are not working, so I manually need to download each respondent file directly on kobo which is not feasible considering the number of respondents.

@izzy_danny, one more question. Have you tried making your data public to see if that helps?

Yes, I have now made it public and what is does now is, it downloads the attachment directly into my computer instead of opening on a Web page as it’s typically does before.

@izzy_danny, yes that is the change made in the system for security reasons!
