Form stops saving when translated text is inputted

I’m building a survey with English as default language and translation into Burmese. I had no problem editing and saving the English version of the survey, but when I try to add the Burmese translations through the Manage Translations screen, I am not able to save any of my work.

What happens:

  1. I copy the translated text from my external document. I paste it into the appropriate line in the Manage Translations screen.
  2. The Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen gains an asterisk, indicating that it recognizes I have added new text.
  3. I try to click “Save Changes,” but nothing happens. The button appears to depress, but the screen does not reload and the asterisk doesn’t disappear.
  4. If try to close the Manage Translation screens using the X at the top right of the screen. A popup screen warns that if I close now, I will lose my unsaved changes. It gives me two options: “Close” and “Cancel.”
  5. If I click “Cancel” it will close the pop up and return me to the Manage Translations screen. If I click “Close,” it behaves the same way as the “Save Changes” button. The button depresses but the popup doesn’t disappear and I am not able to close the Manage Translations screen this way. The only way to close Manage Translations is to refresh the entire page using my browser buttons.

Other context:
-Even after the Save Changes button stops working in Manage Translations, I am able to make changes and save them in the default language in Edit Form Builder.
-I am working on two other surveys right now, each of which has a default language and a translated language. I am not having this problem in any of my other surveys (with French and Arabic).
-I have tried cloning the project with the problematic Manage Translation screen. In the cloned project, I was able to input and save translations for the first six questions, but then the “Save Changes” button stopped working like before.
-Closing and logging out of KoboToolbox, then logging back in does not fix the problem. Restarting my computer does not fix the problem.

Welcome back to the community, @bfeathers! Could you kindly let us know the server you are using? Have you tried using modern browsers (like the Chrome, Edge, Firefox etc.) that is using it’s latest version to see how it behaves? Besides, please also be informed that it’s advised to use the Unicode character and numbers instead of using your language script.
