Geotrace/Geoline + Geoshape support

Dear all,

just out of curiosity I was wondering whether the types geotrace/geoshape are fully supported. What I tested so far is uploading a form using this datatype and testing it with the clients kobocollect and geoodk. With kobo it would not work, but with geoodk it would open the widget demanded. Data transmission also does not throw any error. Only when trying to download the data via my kc.kobotoolbox account I get something as attached and the KML content is as follows:

Enter code here…<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi Sebastian,

At the moment you can use geotrace and geoshape widgets through Enketo Web forms but not with KoBoCollect. There is a bug that prevents it from running, which we will fix ASAP. You can also use ODK Collect for now since the two clients are fully compatible, in case you prefer using an Android application.

Hi Tino,

many thanks for your answer.

I actually have no problem of getting data into the KoBoToolbox, but my problem is getting it out of there:

  1. Data View is not making sense within the project itself
  2. KML export is empty (as seen above)
  3. XLS export is giving back the object ids
  4. There is no map view within the web plattform

What am I missing to actually use the data?

Best

Sebastian
