Hi there, I have installed ActiveGPS on my Android device. But I am seeking how I can automatically pull each GPS location to my KoboCollect data points.
Hi @pulse_pakistan! You can add GPS questions to your KoboToolbox form to collect GPS coordinates for each submission. See this support article for more information: GPS questions in KoboToolbox
You may also wish to explore the audit log capabilities of KoboCollect. This allows you to capture a GPS location (and timestamp) at every point during filling in the form.
I have installed ActiveGPS on my Android device.
FYI, there is no capability to pull in GPS data from arbitrary 3rd party apps in the audit log, so it will use Android built-in GPS capabilities.
Hello Colleagues. Am collecting data in Lesotho Project and i can’t use the GPS function. It does not give me any error message. Appreciate much for your support.
Can you perhaps provide a little more info about exactly what is not working; eg screenshots of observed vs expected behavior.
There are presently no known issues with GPS/geopoint functionality not working in KoboCollect or Enketo, other than the unavoidable issue of needing to be somewhere with a relatively clear view of the sky in order to pickup the satellites. Otherwise you wont so much as get an error as you’ll just never get sufficient accuracy to finally acquire a fix.
Thanks @sgarnier. Will this also work offline.
@pulse_pakistan yes, absolutely, GPS functionalities also work offline
