Issue with Translating Answer Options into Arabic in Kobo Toolbox

Dear Colleagues,

I have successfully completed my first project in Kobo Toolbox, setting English as the default language and Arabic as an additional language. While translating the questionnaire into Arabic, I encountered an issue.

After translating some questions, I previewed the Arabic version. While the questions appeared correctly translated, the answer options were empty and not translated. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the original English question is available, but the answers are not displayed in the text box next to where I would input the Arabic translations. I tried switching languages, but the problem persisted. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? Thanks a lot in advance. @Amin

Welcome to the community, @aminabualsoud! These support articles should help you solve your issue:

@KaLLam: I have reviewed these materials before, thank you for sharing them. From what I understand, Kobo Toolbox doesn’t support building a form or online questionnaire in two languages. One recommendation I received from a community member is to merge the English and Arabic text on a question-by-question basis. Is my understanding correct? Or do you have alternative solutions? Thank you.

Could you provide more details what you exactly want to do, please?

@aminabualsoud, let us continue the discussion on one post instead of making multiple topics…

I’m looking to create a questionnaire in both English and Arabic using KoboToolbox and would appreciate your help with this.

Sure, let’s consolidate the discussion into one post to keep everything organized.
