KoboCollect stopped syncing with global server

Hello,
I’m having an issue with KoboCollect on my tablet. It used to work normally, but now forms are no longer syncing with the server: I can’t download updates or submit completed forms.
At the same time, the website still works fine for me — I can access the database and update the form there without any problems.
I have already tried using VPN and without VPN, with several different VPN locations, and I also tested both kc and kf after the recent global instance outage.
Could this still be related to the outage, or is it more likely an issue on my tablet / KoboCollect side? Any advice would be appreciated.

Your post is missing a few details that would help the community troubleshoot much faster. Could you share the following?

  • The exact error message from KoboCollect

  • The server URL you’re using

  • The KoboCollect version

  • The Android version of the tablet

  • Whether the issue happens on other devices or only this one

Hi! @jorcabrera Thank you for your response! Below are my answers.

  • Error message is “failed to connect to Kobotoolbox (port 443) /172.20.2.13 (port 55470) after 30000ms”.
  • I use kc.kobotoolbox.org. Once, for an experiment, I used kf.kobotoolbox.org. This server didn’t work either.
  • KoboCollect version is v2025.3.3 from Google Play.
  • Android version is 12.
  • The issue happens only on this tablet, because I use it for fieldwork.
