Hello Kobo community,
I am having an issue with the Map view in one of my projects.
Previously, the map was working correctly and I could see submitted records on the map. The form has “start geopoint early” enabled under metadata, and I did not add a separate geopoint question to the form. It worked like this before.
However, now when I open the DATA → Map tab, Kobo says that the project does not include geographical data / no geographical data is available.
The strange part is that the submitted records still contain coordinates in the table. I can see a column called start-geopoint, and some records have valid latitude/longitude values there. The form has not been redeployed since the map was working.
I have already checked that:
start geopoint early is still enabled in the form settings/metadata;
the table still contains start-geopoint values for some records;
the project was not redeployed after the map was working;
some records were deleted, but the remaining records still have coordinates;
I tried checking the table and map again, but the Map tab still does not display the points.
Could you please advise why Kobo Map may no longer recognize the existing start-geopoint metadata field, even though it worked before? Is this a known issue, a change in Kobo’s Map behavior, or is there a way to force the Map tab to use start-geopoint again?
