Preloading Data

Hi there,

I’ve seen some discussion on the pulldata() function not yet being available on Kobo. But I am wondering about External_selects if I can use that to load data through Kobo Platform and download on the devices.

My objective is to filter phone numbers by settlement, then they select their phone number out of the list and then enter a date for the next question and therefore pair the date with the phone number so I can later on match the phone number to the original database with ease.

Any suggestions how to do this easily? Is there a need for preloading data in this case?

Thanks,

-B

Hi Brett,

External selects have been possible for a while, as long as you upload your XLS form directly and don’t use the formbuilder. Afterwards just upload the CSV file through the ‘media uploads’ function on the Project Settings screen.

Hi Brett and Tino,

I just would like to say that I am using the pulldata() function in a form.

I then use ODK Collect on the phone and it works perfectly well. However the Enketo form doesn’t launch due to the following error:

“FormLogicError: instance “ODK-Beneficiary-List.csv” does not exist in model”
