⭐ September 2025 feature update

We’re excited about a new major release deployed to Global and EU KoboToolbox servers on 3 September at 20:35 UTC. Here are some of the highlights:

:paperclip:Attachments & File Management

  • You can now bulk delete attachments in the table view or delete individual files. Attachments then no longer count against storage limits.

  • Clear and consistent handling of deleted files across tables, views, galleries, exports, and submission modals.

Exports

  • Users can now create exports by date ranges to export only partial datasets, e.g. data submitted since a certain date or within a range.

  • To use this, open the Advanced Options toggle in Downloads. It looks up the submission time field

  • You can select one or more dates. If only one is selected it is treated as “greater than or equal to” or “less than or equal to” depending on whether it’s the start or end date.

Show Last Edited User in Project List

  • “Last edited by” field is now included for projects in the project list, with filtering and sorting supported.

  • The Project owner is now included in all project history logs (submissions, permissions, deployments, imports/exports, etc.)

  • The field is hidden by default but can be enabled through the “fields” button

Form previews

  • Form previews through web forms now support microphone and geolocation widgets

Full release notes can be found here.

great!

very useful

Hi @tinok , this new feature is useful but I am wondering will it expand to Media zip files? It would be great if users could download the zi[ file for a given date range.

Best wishes

Catherine

Excellent update! It would be ideal if you could also view the last user who edited a record in the form for auditing purposes.

@cispmed This isn’t listed in the project list table, but you can find it for auditing purposes in Project Settings > Activity:

You could use the API to programmatically filter for most recent data edits across all your projects.

Good afternoon, Thank you very much for the information. Is it also possible to know which fields the user edited in the form? Thank..

Thank you very much and I would like to take this opportunity to revisit our request for the ability to reject questionnaires so that they can be corrected by the agent.
