Submission Error: Duplicate Instance ID / 409 Conflict

Hello KoboToolbox Community,

I am encountering a submission error on an active project when trying to upload data. The system is blocking the upload and returning this error message:

“Submission with this instance ID already exists (409)”

Could anyone help guide me on how to safely bypass this duplicate instance ID error so that the data isn’t lost?

The error “Submission with this instance ID already exists (409)” indicates that KoboToolbox has already received a submission with the same unique instanceID.

Please check whether the record already exists in the project’s Data tab. If it does, the submission can be safely removed from the device. If the record is not present, please let us know how the form was created and submitted so we can help investigate further.
