Submitted data for a shared project not visible to the user

You are not a project owner, you have collected data without using koboapp but online direct in your kobo account, why are you not able to see the data you have submitted but can only be seen by a the project owner. What can this be resolved?

Please not that the project owner has already granted all permissions to the user for the shared project

Welcome to the community, @napa! So, did you mean the admin ower of the project is able to see all the submissions, but the respondent who submitted the data is not able to see the submissions through his/her account for the project? Did I get you correctly? Please feel free to correct me if I understood your issue differently.

Yes, you got it right @Kal_Lam, however, the project owner is able to see the data submitted but still doesn’t see data submitted by who?

While the respondent only sees how many they have submitted but not the data

@Kal_Lam, is their any solutions to this?

@napa, this is a sharing permission issue. You will need to configure the sharing permissions before collecting your data. If you try to assign the permissions after collecting the data, the permissions would not work.

@Kal_Lam the permissions were assigned to the user before data collection. I have tested this myself and nothing worked. Does this therefore mean that use can only collect data using kobo app and the other way doesnt work?

@napa, it also works on the web-form. I just did a quick test. But for this, you will need to have the form setting as shown in the image below:

When you try entering your data (through the webform), you will need to login with the enumerators’ account credentials (and then proceed collecting and submitting your data):

BTW, you can always ensure that the correct person has submitted your data by checking the _submitted_by column header under the DATA>Table tab as shown below:

Thanks @Kal_Lam, all that i’ve done but none has worked. The webform data collection brings no results as data in the enumerator’s account. I’ve realised that while giving permissions, the view submission from specific users eliminates the username when other permissions ie edit submission etc, could this be the reason?

Yes, you will need to use this sharing permissions.

Unfortunately, this has not worked for me. :cry

@napa, try it in a new project with some dummy responses and you should be able to configure the settings.

Feel free to go through this article Row-Level Permissions if needed.

Thanks @Kal_Lam , this was resolved
