Translating Kobo Collect to french

I’m doing some interviews in Haiti and I have translated the forms to French, but not I’m wondering if I can get the KoboCollect to run in French I see on Kobo Design a prompt for language but I can’t seem to make it work, does anyone have had any experience with translation into French?

After selecting a form, hit the phone’s Menu key button, then select Change Language. You should see a list of languages for your form, if you have any.

At least that’s how it’s done in ODK collect. Can’t recall if it’s the same for Kobo Collect, but it should be close enough.

In KoBoForm, the “language” menu let you specify additional language for the form – a screen appears with all the questions and options for translation. IF you have defined this, then you can switch between languages once the form is uploaded on your phone: in KoBoCollect select menu>change language. Note that this only applies to the content of the form. The prompts depend I believe on the OS language.

Patrick is right, you have to change the language in your phone’s settings so that your phone’s prompts are all in French.

From the home screen, choose Menu >> Settings >> Language and Keyboard settings >> Select Language.

When your phone’s native language is set to French, KoBoCollect will show you prompts all in French, they are already in there.

Not all phones are equipped with extra languages. You will find out when you try and change it in the settings.
