Upload data from previous verisons of a form

Hi, We’re having issues where some survey takers have not updated the form and are using an older version (v2) of the form, which is currently v6, as a result they can’t seem to upload their data. What do we need to do to get these forms uploaded and collect these data?

Thanks,

Byron

Welcome back to the community, @Byron! It looks like the survey form has been archived or deleted from your server. Could you please check if the project is still active there?

Hey Kai!

There were a few revisions to the form. Most survey takers downloaded the update, apparently a few did not.

I have the archived version on the server. I was thinking I could archive the current one, then publish the archive the name and version number

Can’t have two surveys with the same name online at the same time.

I’ve run into a similar issue before. Usually, the best fix is to temporarily redeploy the older version of the form (v2) so the pending submissions can sync, then switch back to v6 afterward. Otherwise, data from outdated forms often won’t upload properly.

Hi Ben,

I agree. This makes the most sense. We’re redeploying v2 and archiving v6 for now. I’ll let the survey teams know and have them re-submit the data to the server and see if they have any issues.

Sadly, uploading the XLS of the V2 form and getting the field workers to re-download, then attempt to upload their data to the now new old version of the form hasn’t worked. I’m at a bit of a loss on this one. As a test to validate what the team has been experiencing I started a new form using the new old version and received a message that the form was not active.

"Upload Results Revised NCDF health and Family survey with YK v2 - Error: Form is not active.

Not sure what to try next. There are roughly 140 survey forms sitting on the field devices and we can’t seem to get them to upload.

It’s not helping that we’ve just experienced several natural disasters here in Nepal - heaviest rains in decades, landslides and the destruction that came with them. But we can connect and data was going through until about 10 days ago.

Any insight is appreciated.
