Using date criteria when downloading data

Hi, When downloading data from Kobotoolbox.org does anyone know a way to filter by submission date, so that I can download a week at a time. I wish to download weekly but don’t want to download all of the data every time, so it would be nice to be able to download all data submitted after 31/Jan/2015 for example. I had a look under the “Advanced button” but no luck there. Same goes for downloading pictures. Is there any way to download pictures and data submitted after a particular date?

Thanks in advance

James

Hi James,

Unfortunately that’s not possible. You will have to download the whole dataset and then filter the submissions of a particular week, which can be done in Excel or other software of course. The same applies to images or videos.

Best,

Tino

Hi Tino,

I’ve found a work around that I adopted from something I found on a formhub user group see below. It lets you set time criteria for the data download

To extract data filtered by data ranges you can check out this wiki

https://github.com/modilabs/formhub/wiki/Formhub-Access-Points-(API)

Here’s the url I used

https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/MYPROJECTNAME/forms/MYSURVEYFORM/data.xls?start=13_11_16_00_00_00&end=13_11_16_23_59_59

It seemed to work for me. But I have a question about the images which I will post as another topic.

Cheers

James

Unfortunately, I could not get this to work.
Please Kobo, this seems to be a very necessary and basic function that should be included in the Export page.
Hope to see this soon!
Thx

Hi @locust
Welcome to the community forum. Do you mind explaining exactly how you had tried initiating this on your end and how the failure occurred?

In the meantime, do you mind checking on our suggestions for future development and see if there is a similar request which you can vote for?

Hi @locust,

As outlined by @stephanealoo, there already is a feature request for the same made previously:

Maybe you could VOTE for the same to make this a reality in the upcoming days.
