What is the difference between the two links: https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/ and https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/?

Dear team

I am a new student learning how to use KoboToolbox, and I have one question.

What is the difference between the two links:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/ and
:backhand_index_pointing_right: https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Sophai

Welcome to the community, @sophey! Please be informed that the https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/ is the KoboToolbox Formbuilder/frontend interface (KF). This is the part where you design forms, manage your projects, monitor data collection, and download data. It’s what you interact with as a user (dashboard, project settings, submissions, etc.).

https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/, on the other hand, is KoboToolbox KoBoCAT (KC) or data server endpoint. It mainly handles the storage and management of your data. This is where the API for submissions and data retrieval operates. It’s also what your form collectors (e.g., KoboCollect app, Enketo webforms) communicate with when submitting data.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me. I hope I will make good use of it soon as I continue learning, and I hope you will support me later.

So when collecting data using the Kobo Toolbox on mobile app, should the url be https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/ or https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/

Hi @mealo_mdo,

The way I remember the KoboCollect’s url is; the Kobo Toolbox mobile app is called KoboCollect therefore it uses the kc url
