XML Schema for FormBuilder

Exciting to learn about this project! Unfortunately, I don't speak
Java very well, so I hope that justifies my question (and the fact
that I couldn't find in the documentation).

Is there an XML Schema used to validate the forms created with the
KoboForm Builder/Designer? If so, is this an existing 'standard' or a
custom creation and could somebody please point me towards the used
schema please?

Cheers,
Martijn

Martijn,

Thanks for your interest in KoBo, I’m sure I can help you get started. If you are interested in the XML schema, you should know that KoBoCollect uses Xforms as supported by Javarosa. For details about the schema, please see: https://bitbucket.org/javarosa/javarosa/wiki/xform

Just FYI, KoBoForm takes care of writing the XML for you, so you shouldn’t have to edit it yourself unless you have some special something you want to include.

For more details about how to use KoBo Tools, please take a look at the UserGuide, and If you want to get started building your survey in KoBoForm, I suggest the Getting Started Tutorial.

Any special questions you have, please post to the list and we will help you out.

(I believe I didn't reply to this in the proper manner as my reply
seems to have been posted in another thread. Sorry about that.)

Thanks a lot for your help Neil!

FWIW, in case anybody else is looking for a non-Java solution to
validate javarosa forms (which I believe don't validate with the
XForms XML Schema due to the additions made to the schema by
javarosa), I was pointed to GitHub - dimagi/formtranslate: A small django web-api wrapper for JavaRosa's XForm Jar tools
(python/json) by the ODK community. See
http://groups.google.com/group/opendatakit/browse_thread/thread/aa8b9c8d8edc72da
for the thread. Hopefully, one day I can help with creating the .xsd
for javarosa forms...

Cheers,
Martijn
