Hello,
During data collection of our project suddenly the URL, username and password of our company account were shared to enumerators and now we are worried about leaking of raw data as some of enumerators have access to account, is there any way so we could restrict their access to the account so they can just have limited access like using the option Allow submissions to this form without a username and password.
As well as is there any way so we can log out all users form account?
Hi @waris.jaheed01, first of all change your password as first step. After that you can create a new account for the enumurators, and share the form with account and only provide " View form, Add submissions" permission with this account. So all data will still collect under your main account, enumurators without the second account’s username and password can not submit the form. Also, as you did not provide them “View submissions”, they won’t be able to see or download the submitted forms
@osmanburcu Thank you very much
Hi! @osmanburcu
First of all, thank you for your support and assistance.
Furthermore, following your guidance on restricting users/enumerators from accessing the account without a username and password, we have enabled the option to Allow submissions to the form without an username and password. However, we are still facing issues. When we share our account URL with users/enumerators, they are unable to access the project form and fill the form.
Hi @farzad_hussaini, are you using KoboCollect app? or Enketo forms?
We are using Kobo Collect app
you need to share the username and password with them. They need to set up the project with this username and password, they will find only one shared form in the account, they will be able to submit but they won’t see the data
If they log in through a computer on our server, and as you mentioned that you need to share the username and password with them, they will be able to access the server. This means they will have the ability to edit the form, view the data, upload and deploy changes, and access all other available options. What is the solution to address this issue in such a case?
No, they can’t. You will share the second account’s username and password which have permission of “View Form” and add submission. As long as you don’t give the edit form, view submission, edit submissions, delete submission or manage project they won’t be able to edit form, edit submission or deploy change. Please just create and account and test it, I have been doing this for more than 20-30 enumerators.
