Adding illustrations/images to questions (for semi-literate enumerators)?

Hi,

is there any possibility to add images/illustrations to questions in KoBoForm? I.e. together with a numerical/text-based question a picture appears on the smart phone display to enable also semi-literate enumerators to conduct surveys with KoBoCollect… There was already another post on how to replace text with pictures, but I am interested in having both…text & pictures. Any help/suggestion is highly appreciated!

Thanks and regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

This is possible and I use it a lot, I am pasting an example of an xml syntax that has both the text and photo.

Hi Aloo,

Could you help me if there is a way to make the image/illustration to be displayed at large scale i.e. is there a way to control the size of the display?

Thank you,

Bassil

Hi Bassil
This is Aloo here. Yes you can change the size of the image you want to show. Ideally it should be guided on the device you wish to use as your data collection device. I would normally set the size of the image to meet the device I use; kindly note this will also determine the file size so you are better off taking the image and resolution size that optimize for your size in both cases.

Stephane

Thank you Aloo so much for the information. I would like to set up the form to make an image readable and clear on the PC screen. I.e. sometimes i use an image as icon and sometimes i would use it as illustration or result full page size. How could I do that? like is there somehing i can add to control its size, frame or alignment…etc. Thank you so much,

Bassil

Hi I would like to ask if I can also add voice recording to the question so that the questions could be read out loud.

Thanks!

please walk me through how to do that, I need that urgent

Hi @sengkrisna,

Please see the forum post on adding images to your survey form:

Hi Thomas
