How can we change the appearance of the grid questions (the rating type questions). Once I am uploading it, the interface is hard to read. Can you tell me the ways in which the appearance can be changed

If you wish to use the rating question type under the grid theme layout settings you could use the likert under appearance.
Please note: The grid theme settings best works with Enketo (web form) while collecting data.

I am using tabs while deployig this. and the way the rating options are showing is getting difficult to see. IS there a way this can be solved?

Kindly please be informed that grid theme layout settings does not work as it should with KoBoCollect android app. You will need to collect data in Enketo (web form) as outlined in the forum discussion earlier.
