Failed to update permissions for selected usernames

Hi community. Why is it that when I try to share my project with certain usernames, it says “Failed to update permissions”? The issue is not consistent though, as sharing permission is allowed to other usernames. I have encountered this for multiple projects already

Can you check if the usernames that say “Failed to update permissions” are in the same server as the project?

Yes @hakan_cetinkaya . All usernames are using the same server. Also, in terms of consistency, there were also scenarios wherein these same usernames (with failed permission updating) were allowed for some projects in some attempts

There’s this solution if you want to try:

Failed to update permissions

We had the same issue with new users added and impossible to update their permissions. We have about 11 - 12 users in total. Also one user that previously had permission to submit data was affected. As it turned out, all usernames that were affected from “failed to update permissions” error started with “a”. Once we changed usernames to start with “b” we were able to set or update their permissions. Hope this helps @comcat and @bridgethac.

I hope you can share what worked for you. we are currently experiencing the same issue (failed to update permission for certain users, but have successfully added other users). we have tried all the suggestions that are currently available here but did not work hi @Kal_Lam. total number of users that were successfully assigned with permission is currently at 38. we are using the non-hum server

@hm11, could you also let us know the total number of users you wish to share for your project?

40 users should not be an issue when sharing projects. Are you sure it’s exactly 40 users?

@Kal_Lam Hello, I am trying to give access to the project to 55 people. However, when I give them the access is removed.
