Printing the whole questionnaire

Hi,
I do not manage to print the whole questionnaire created with the online version. The preview shows only the main questions (but not those that have a skip logic). How could I have a printout of the integral questionnaire?
Thanks for your advice,
Dominique

Hi Dominique,

The best way to print your questionnaire is to first deploy it as a new survey project. Then click on the Enter data in browser link and on the Print button. In the Print view all questions are displayed, even if they have skip logic applied to them.

Best,

Tino

Dear Dominique, dear Tino,
I think it’s even not necessary to first deploy; you can also print (to pdf) from Preview mode. @Tino: Do you see any difference?

There are some limits for this print-out:

  • If a choice-filter is used, any(!) choices will only be shown if the choice-value is activated and also only part of all choice will be printed. See example attached.
  • The skipping/navigation and dynamic choices are not specified in the print-out.
  • Skipped parts come with very light gray.
  • Also other things like constraints, defaults, required, calculation formulas etc. do not appear in the print.

So, the print option is useful, but cannot really be used as a paper-version (e.g. back-up) of the questionnaire.

Except the (technical) XLSForm, I didn’t find any option for complete documentation.
From Edit mode, a (web) print is possible, but either shows only one of the “Settings” (Question options, or Skip Logic or Validation Criteria) OR only the choices, but not all together. @Tino: Maybe you know more?
Kind regards
Wolfgang

Strangely, I try this but not all questions show. The questions not showing are in a begin repeat group that is dependent on a number entered in an integer quesiton

You need to set/enter a number (>= 1) to get the repeat printed. You can do this e.g. in a clone of your form, with a default. (Similar problems may happen with relevant and choice_filter.)
